Who Will You Be Working With?

By Yousef Kira Durrani

My Name is Yousef Kira Durrani

I help people find the inner peace they've always been looking for.

That might sound simple — but for many of us, peace has never been easy to come by.

We spend years in distraction, in performance, in survival mode. We carry pain that was never processed, and wonder why we feel disconnected — from ourselves, from others, from life.

I work with people who are ready to change that.

My Approach

The way I work is shaped by both formal training and lived experience.

I started my journey into social sciences at Open University. Then studied Psychology at Oxford Brookes University, leading onto me going to London School of Counselling, completing CPCAB-accredited counselling qualifications.

But what I bring to you goes beyond academic knowledge.

For over ten years, I travelled the world — not to escape, but to understand. I didn't just study psychology from books. I observed how people relate to each other in different cultures. I paid attention to how people relate to themselves. I've listened to monks, street vendors, strangers who became friends — each experience teaching me something about what it means to be human.

I've experienced therapy myself for many years, and I know the courage it takes to open up. I also know what it feels like to be searching for safety — not just externally, but within.

Between graduating and becoming a therapist, my path took me through other careers. But therapy was always the destination. I was waiting for the moment I felt I had enough internal capacity — the steadiness, the presence — to offer deep, transformative support to others.

A Different Kind of Presence

What I offer in our work together isn't just technique. It's presence.

Not the kind you gain from ticking boxes, but the kind earned through experience.

  • I've stood in a ring in Thailand, about to fight, learning what it means to stay grounded in the middle of chaos.
  • I've travelled through Vietnam, learning how people connect without words — through gestures, glances, and kindness.
  • I've worked in the UAE, surrounded by status and material success — and seen with clarity how money alone does not bring meaning.

These are just some of the experiences that have deepened my understanding of what it takes to feel safe in your own skin — and what it means to build a life led by inner truth, not outer expectation.

Who I Work With

I support people navigating:

  • Anxiety
  • Emotional overwhelm
  • Disconnection
  • Chronic patterns that no longer serve them

Many of my clients feel like they've been "performing" for a long time — trying to get it right, to be liked, to stay in control — but underneath it all, they're longing for real connection. Real peace.

My practice blends insights from:

  • Person-Centred Therapy
  • Transactional Analysis
  • Inner Child Work
  • Attachment Theory

I've coined the approach Home Within Therapy — helping clients build a secure internal relationship that leads to the kind of peace they've always been seeking.

If you've ever felt like you're constantly on the run — from fear, from pain, from never feeling "enough" — this is the place where you can stop running.

I'll meet you there.
